Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how ClipShift, operated by Your Top Skills, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our website, iPhone app, and related support flows. It covers both signed-in accounts and guest usage.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: If you sign in, we may receive account identifiers and profile details from Firebase Authentication and identity providers such as Google, GitHub, or Apple.
  • Guest and device-scoped identifiers: If you use the service without signing in, we may store a first-party guest or install identifier on your device so the same device is not treated as a brand new user on every launch.
  • Content and processing data: We process videos, images, trim ranges, crop selections, output settings, and generated results needed to deliver GIFs, clips, Live Photos, and similar outputs. Some flows run locally and some use cloud processing or storage-backed delivery.
  • Purchase and credit data: We store purchase state, credit balances, product identifiers, and related transaction metadata. iPhone in-app purchases are handled through Apple and RevenueCat. We do not receive your full payment card number from our payment processors.
  • Support data: If you contact support through the app or by email, we may store your message, the related tool or workflow, timestamps, and limited technical metadata needed to respond.
  • Usage, diagnostics, and ad data: We collect product analytics, crash and performance diagnostics, consent state, device or app-scoped identifiers, and ad interaction events such as impressions, clicks, dismissals, rewards, and load failures.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide editing, conversion, export, account, and credit functionality.
  • Authenticate users and keep purchases or credits tied to the right account or device.
  • Process uploads and generate requested outputs, including cloud-backed Live Photo flows.
  • Operate support, investigate failures, and improve reliability.
  • Measure product usage, performance, and feature adoption across web and mobile.
  • Show ads and measure ad performance where ads are enabled and consent or platform rules allow it.
  • Prevent abuse, enforce limits, and protect the service.

4. Analytics, Ads, and Diagnostics

We use analytics and diagnostics to understand feature usage and failures. On the web, analytics is implemented through Firebase Analytics. On mobile, analytics events are proxied through our backend to Google Analytics. We also use Sentry for crash and release diagnostics and AdMob for advertising in the mobile app.

On iPhone, if the production build uses tracking-enabled advertising features, the app requests Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission and uses Google's User Messaging Platform where required before enabling the related measurement paths.

Our telemetry is designed to stay operational and minimal. We avoid sending raw auth tokens, raw support message bodies, or full user-uploaded file names to analytics or Sentry where possible.

5. Guest Usage and Same-Device Recognition

If you use ClipShift without signing in, we may assign a first-party guest or install-scoped identifier stored on your device. We use this to keep your guest session consistent, avoid double-counting the same device as a new user on every launch, enforce product limits, and associate guest activity with a later signed-in account when needed for credits, support, or continuity.

If you clear local app or browser data, uninstall the app, or reset device storage, that guest identifier may reset.

6. Service Providers and Sharing

We share information with service providers only as needed to run the product, including Firebase, Google Analytics, Google AdMob, Sentry, Apple, RevenueCat, and any legacy or transition billing provider used for web checkout. These providers process data on our behalf or as independent payment, analytics, advertising, or infrastructure providers.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to valid legal requests, to prevent fraud or abuse, or to protect users, us, or the public.

7. Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, operate credits and purchases, respond to support requests, maintain security, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.

Some content or output files may be stored in cloud systems long enough to complete processing, deliver results, or support recovery and operational needs. Backup copies and provider-side logs may persist for a limited time before routine overwrite or deletion.

8. Your Choices

  • You can choose whether to sign in or continue as a guest where that option is available.
  • You can control certain device permissions, such as Photos access, through system settings.
  • On iPhone, ad and privacy choices may also be managed through the in-app privacy options flow when available and through Apple device settings.
  • On iPhone, signed-in users can start account deletion from the in-app account screen.
  • You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information, subject to verification and legal limits.

9. Account and Data Deletion

On iPhone, signed-in users can start account deletion directly from the in-app account screen. We also accept deletion requests by email at yourtopskills@gmail.com with the subject Account Data Deletion Request. Include the email address tied to your account and any other details needed for us to identify your data.

In-app deletion is intended to remove your ClipShift sign-in account, credits, linked guest identity mappings, support requests, usage history stored in our systems, and stored ClipShift media content associated with that account. We may ask you to verify account ownership before acting on email requests. If your account uses Sign in with Apple, we may ask you to complete a browser-based confirmation step so Apple authorization can be revoked before deletion finishes.

We may keep limited records where required for legal compliance, fraud prevention, bookkeeping, dispute handling, or similar obligations, including limited billing or transaction records retained by us or our payment providers.

For general service rules, see our Terms of Service.
